A free Minecraft Bedrock gateway built to make custom servers easier to reach.
MCGateway is a free community-run Minecraft Bedrock gateway that helps players connect to custom Bedrock servers. It is especially useful on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, where adding custom servers through Minecraft's normal server list is more limited.
Players add an MCGateway access bot as a Microsoft friend, join MCGateway through Minecraft's Friends tab, enter the MCGateway Hub, and choose the Bedrock server they want to reach.
Bedrock is cross-platform. Custom server access is not equally convenient everywhere.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition runs across consoles, phones, tablets, and Windows PCs, but console players do not get the same straightforward custom-server workflow available on every device. MCGateway was created to make that experience simpler without requiring a special console download.
The public experience is intentionally simple: add a bot, join from the Friends tab, and use the Hub to reach the destination you want.
Joining takes three basic steps.
- Add an available MCGateway bot.Use the current recommendation on the Bots page or the homepage. The website avoids recommending bots that are too close to their friend limit.
- Open Minecraft Bedrock and go to Friends. After the bot has accepted you, MCGateway can appear through Minecraft's normal Friends experience.
- Join MCGateway and choose your destination.Enter the Hub, select the server you want, and MCGateway handles the connection process.
MCGateway does not require a paid subscription or a special console download to use the gateway.
Built around Minecraft Bedrock.
MCGateway is designed for Minecraft Bedrock Edition and can be used from Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, mobile devices, and other Bedrock platforms. Console players are the main reason the service exists, but the gateway itself is not limited to consoles.
Multiple bots keep MCGateway available as the community grows.
MCGateway operates a fleet of access bots rather than relying on a single account. The website monitors bot availability and recommends a bot with safe friend capacity and recent successful activity. Bots near their friend limit are kept out of recommendations so new players are less likely to add an account that is about to fill up.
The current fleet can be viewed on the live Bots page.
The Hub is the place players enter before transferring.
The Hub is the in-game center of MCGateway. It handles the player-facing transfer experience and also includes community features and activities beyond the basic connection flow. MCGateway tracks service activity so public statistics can show how the gateway is being used over time.
More detail is available on the Statistics page.
A simple player experience backed by continuously monitored infrastructure.
Behind the public Hub, MCGateway uses dedicated backend systems to keep service history, monitor the access-bot fleet, track availability, and maintain the data used by the website and community tools. The Minecraft Hub and backend communicate continuously while permanent service history is kept outside the game server.
The public website intentionally exposes only the information players need, such as service status, public statistics, and bot availability. Private operational data and account credentials are not published.
MCGateway was created by Jaxzen as an independent community project.
The project combines the Minecraft Hub, access-bot fleet, backend infrastructure, website, automation, and community systems into one service. MCGateway has continued to grow through development, testing, player feedback, and community support.

MCGateway is being developed as a long-term community service.
Current development focuses on reliability, easier access, better public information, and improving the experience around discovering and reaching Bedrock servers. Future features are added when they make the service more useful without making the basic joining process harder.
MCGateway is built around the people using it.
The official MCGateway Discord is the main place for support, announcements, feedback, and community discussion. Players can also use the site's FAQ for common questions and the live homepage for current service status.
